Privacy Notice
Last updated: 1 August 2026
This Privacy Notice explains how David ("we", "us", the "Seller") handles personal data in the AI Bible application ("the Service"). David is the data controller for the personal data described here.
1. Personal data we collect and why
- Account data — your name, email address and the identifier from your sign-in provider (for example Google). Used to create and secure your account and to sign you in. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Study content you create — bookmarks, highlights and chapter notes. Used to store and sync your study material across your devices. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Subscription records — subscription status, plan, billing period dates and the customer/subscription identifiers issued by our reseller. Used to grant or revoke access to premium features. Legal basis: performance of our contract and compliance with legal obligations. Payment card details are collected and processed by Paddle, not by us.
- Prompts and requests to AI features — the chapter or verse reference and any question you type into Insights, Word Study, Guide or Songs. Used to generate the response and to prevent abuse. Legal basis: performance of our contract and our legitimate interest in service security.
- Technical and security data — IP address, device and browser information, and error or usage logs. Used for security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting and improving the Service. Legal basis: our legitimate interests.
- Support messages — anything you send us when asking for help. Used to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interests.
2. Who we share personal data with
- Merchant of Record. Paddle.com Market Ltd is the Merchant of Record for all orders. We share the data needed for the sale of the product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, invoicing and refund handling.
- Service providers and subprocessors — our hosting, database, authentication and AI inference providers, and Bible text providers, who process data only on our instructions.
- Professional advisers — legal, accounting and tax advisers where necessary.
- Authorities — where disclosure is required by law or to protect our rights.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use your study notes for advertising.
3. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including outside the UK and EEA. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.
4. Retention
We keep account data and study content for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your account data and study content within 30 days, except where we must retain records (for example subscription and tax records) to meet legal obligations. Technical logs are kept for a short period and then deleted.
5. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, or object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent you may withdraw it at any time. We respond within one month. You may also complain to your local data protection supervisory authority.
To exercise any right, contact us at support@aibible.app.
6. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, row-level access controls that restrict each record to its owner, and least privilege access to production systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Cookies and local storage
We use strictly necessary cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, to remember your reading preferences and to store your study content on your device. We do not use advertising cookies. Our reseller Paddle may set cookies needed to operate checkout and prevent fraud. You can clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings, though sign-in and preference features may then stop working.
